Peter Heding: Smooth Bent Dublin Sitter with Boxwood (Diamond) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-362-0201

A vertical sitter probably is not the easiest thing to make flow. Matters of curve and cant, and roll of rim not only have to be carefully chosen to turn a fundamentally static, tense orientation (i.e. vertical) into something graceful, but they also have to be managed in such a way as to prevent the shape from losing its physical balance. That is to say, managed so that it can still actually sit on what will be, typically, a pretty small footprint. Peter Heding pulled it all off here, and beautifully — and that's just talking about the lines and forms involved, not even the grain.
