Here Peter Heding combines a very sleek shape with a light rustication, mixing smooth contours, easy lines, and a lot of graceful forward flow with a dark, textured surface, accentuated by a perfect amount of pale, polished boxwood making up most of the base of the short-throw saddle stem. Overall, this makes for a different way of presenting an elegant silhouette, the low-profile rustication preserving lines perfectly, while also making for a more uniform and denser texture, compared the sort of very light-depth sandblast most other artisans would have used.
