Peter Heding: Rusticated Bent Egg with Boxwood (Silver) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-362-0204
We've seen a number of bent Egg renditions from Peter Heding now, yet each one has differed slightly from the last. This example is perhaps the most radically distinct of the bunch, forgoing Peter's usual low-slung treatment for something very tight-knit and generously bent. Rather than elongating the shank and setting the bowl to a strong forward cant, Peter's presented us here with something much more upright, featuring a taller bowl with a higher waistline positioned just below the rim and a near 3/4 bend in profile. Its abbreviated, trim shank and generous bend lend it that aforementioned tight-knit style, yet it still comes off quite elegant and dynamic in profile due to the beautiful, continuous taper from rim to shank end. It's presented here in a jet-black, low-profile rustication for a stimulating feel in hand and a rather formal, reserved palette overall.
