Peter Heding: Smooth Sphinx with Horn (Gold) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-362-0207
This is the second Sphinx we've seen from Peter Heding within less than six months. but also, in a way, not. By that I mean it is a Sphinx, a pipe worked from the Sphinx concept, but also an otherwise completely different design. This is a quieter Sphinx, a softer Sphinx, and certainly a Sphinx with a whole lot less bend — just enough to introduce a readily recognizable, easy S-curve from bit to dome-like fore. And speaking of that dome-like surface, it also plays a part in an interesting bit visual trickery. The waist-line of this pipe's bowl, viewed in profile, is actually pointed downward towards the front — yet the aesthetic as a whole appears as a pronounced lift starting at the transition, and strongest right up front, at said dome.
