Peter Heding: Smooth Tomato with Boxwood
Product Number: 002-362-0246
While not as low-slung as some of his other Tomato shapes, this piece from Peter Heding really executes his ability to combine substance and fluidity in fine style. With a forward-ebbing line to its rim, as well as a strong forward cant, and plenty of lift to its heel, this piece is one with a whole lot of dynamic motion packed into it, while the bowl itself is muscular enough to fit neatly into the hand. It's all wrapped in one of Heding's beautiful contrast stains, highlighting a wealth of birdseye at the flanks of the bowl, and accented by a mount of pale boxwood — precision-lined to feel like one continuous line between the shank and stem.- Rachel DuBose
