IMP Meerschaum: Smooth Freehand with Silver (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

IMP Meerschaum generally produces shapes of a more reserved, traditional style, making this rustic freehand an interesting find and a rarity in some respects. The underside is smooth, a continuous line that arcs upward at the heel, the right flank doing the same, with a slight, supple curvature toward the bowl. The top of the pipe, however, is the natural texture of meerschaum, the rearward slope of the stummel likely exactly that of the block used to carve the pipe, resulting in a craggy texture and reddish brown coloration. This pipe is fitted with a speckled red, white, and blue stem that features expansion rings at the base, creating a striking color contrast.
