IMP Meerschaum: Smooth Rhodesian Churchwarden with Silver (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

Churchwardens are always interesting pieces, especially when the lengthy, svelte stems that are iconic to the form are paired to full-bodied bowls, as is the case with this Rhodesian from IMP Meerschaum. The Turkish workshop has here rendered a profile that reminds me of an Acorn, with a plump, high-waisted bowl whose curvaceous taper to the rim is marked with a pair of beadlines, its walls rising to over two inches in height. The transition is wide enough to drape a thumb, and the shank ebbing forth from it takes on a slight upturn, its trim length adorned with a broad band of silver that marks the junction to the stem.
