Jared Coles: Sandblasted Rhodesian with Bakelite (1722)
Product Number: 002-738-0027
Streamlined and relatively conservative overall, this arrow-straight Rhodesian sports a squat, rounded bowl up front, adorned with a tight double-beadline about the equator. It offers a substantial, stimulating feel in hand, finished as it is in a dark, textured sandblast. In a minute detail that reminds me of the work of Tom Eltang, the rim is kissed with a touch of smooth contrast, complemented by a slender mount of creamy, swirled bakelite. The aforementioned mount serves to lead the eye to a long saddle stem, making fine use of negative space to balance the visual weight of the bowl. Excellent piece here.
