While Jared Coles' style most often reflects organically inclined, bent designs, this straight Dublin demonstrates his facility with more traditional shapes, though not without his own unique modifications. At just over five inches, it presents a convenient size for its minimalist and classic style. The bowl is upright with a touch of forward cant and a smooth, curved rim contrasting with the undulating waves of growth rings climbing the bowl. The shank is proportionately long and cylindrical, terminated by an accent of lapis blue vulcanite. The Bakelite saddle stem is smoky and translucent, harmonizing with the hue of the stummel in a long, thin aspect with a single expansion ring near its base. For a shape-chart standard with additional personality, this is a fine choice.
