Jared Coles: Sandblasted Lovat Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-738-0084

Jared Coles is an American artisan pipe maker who resides in California and produces precise, often Danish-inspired designs. This Lovat carries on that tradition with a pert tapered bowl, cheeking at the transition, and an arrow-straight shank and stem out back. He went on a bit of an adventure with this one, however, carving a unique pattern into the stummel evocative of growth rings in the briar, and lightly sandblasting the pipe to bring out further natural texture.

It's an intriguing effect, and made more so by a coal-black stain on the majority of the stummel, with just the inflated rim left smooth and stained a ruby hue to unify with the mouthpiece. The stem, then, is svelte, hand-cut saddle variant made of handsome cumberland, perfectly completing the stummel's aesthetic. Air-light in hand and stunning to admire, this one is sure to become a favorite in any discerning smoker's rotation.
