Jared Coles: Sandblasted Bent Dublin with Bamboo Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-738-0142
Jarded Coles entered the pipe industry as a young man, founding J&J pipes. After finding success at J&J, Coles struck out on his own, receiving instruction from some of America's greatest pipe artisans along the way. Today, Coles is known to take inspiration from the Japanese school of design when crafting his pipes, specifically from Kei-ichi Gotoh and Hiroyuki Tokutomi. Those design cues can be seen in this bent Dublin, which displays an organic aesthetic due to its shaping and use of bamboo. Resembling an Acorn, the walls of the bowl rise and flare from a softly pointed heel to an asymmetrical, plateau-crowned rim. Nestled within the bowl is a compact tobacco chamber, making this an ideal option if you're seeking short and satisfying smoking sessions. A tightly-knit transition gives way to an abbreviated shank that quickly connects to the aforementioned bamboo section, expanding three knuckles and rising to meet the shoulders of a petite saddle stem cut from vulcanite. The inky hue of the mouthpiece pairs well to the darkly sandblasted stummel, both juxtaposing against the pearly accent of the bamboo.
