Johs: Sandblasted Freehand Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-392-3763
Born in 1953 in Frederikshavn, Denmark, Mogens "Johs" Johansen is one of the world's most prolific pipe makers, crafting around 1,000 pipes a year. Johs' pipe making journey began when he met Danish artisan Peter Hedegaard, whose handsome pipes inspired Johs to try his hand at pipe making. Soon, Johs turned pipe making into a profession, beginning to work with the esteemed Bjarne Nielsen. After Nielsen's unfortunate passing in 2008, Johs went into business for himself. Johs' pipes are deeply influenced by traditional Danish shape charts and Fancy Freehand aesthetics. Furthermore, his pipes tend to take on larger forms and display curvaceous shaping. This Freehand is a fine example of Johs' work, presented here in a rustic sandblast.
