Joura: Smooth Bent Egg (Infinity C) (1994) Tobacco Pipe

This is the second-sleekest Joura number we've lately received, to my eye, outdone in that particular aspect only by the low-slung and much firmer Volcano found in this same update. That said, it is also definitely the more supple of the two, even though both bear only the slightest of bends. In bowl and transition gesture, it reminds me of the soft curves and delicate form of certain old clay designs, which makes for an interesting match to a shank cross-section and flare of stem-base that are not only distinctly "briar," but specifically modern even within the realm of post-Sixten, individually-made artisanal pipes.

A note on the "1994" stamp: This indicates a pipe shaped from particularly well-aged briar Karlheinz Joura originally acquired in 1994.
