Joura: Smooth Bent Billiard (Infinity D) (1978)

Product Number: 002-193-0131

Boasting some elegant curvature to its bowl, as well as a low line of structured shank and a crisp transition, this bent Billiard from Karlheinz Joura is one that is at once soft and clean, highlighting not only some Danish influence, but the German school's appreciation of linework. Even more special, it was carved from well-aged briar from 1978, which Joura acquired in 1994 and kept in storage for just the right piece. That serves this piece well, meaning the bowl is surrounded in thin, dense lines of flame, all dressed in a warm, subtle stain. It's a fine way of displaying Joura's shaping and finishing skill, as well as his ability with the material, all combining into a truly impressive pipe.
