A compact pipe of near Nosewarmer dimensions, this Apple from Danish artisan Kai Nielsen is a fine example of the carver's shaping style. Son of Viggo Nielsen, an artisan and founder of Bari Pipes, Kai got his start at the firm before coming into his own as a skillful carver. This piece features a forward-urging, pert bowl, its charmingly plump disposition and easy line work lending it even further Danish character. The fore of this piece protrudes a bit for further flair, while the sleek, svelte stretch of shank and stem add a pleasing balance. This pipe is finished in a smoky walnut finish, showcasing some lovely clusters of birdseye along the flanks.
