Kai Nielsen has carved pipes for most of his life, beginning in his father's Bari workshop. With decades of experience, he's developed a unique style in line with broader Danish conventions. This bent Billiard is a fine example of Nielsen's aesthetic, displaying the smooth curves and subtle ridges that make his work so recognizable. The pert bowl on this piece rests at the fore of a semi-paneled oval shank fitted with a half-saddle vulcanite stem. Dressed in rich walnut stain, the VVVV-grade stummel boasts fine flame grain around the bowl, with swirling birdseye at the rim and heel.
