An Acorn-like take on the bent Dublin shape, this piece from Kai Nielsen boasts a tall, supple bowl that flares from its lifted heel to its broad, curved rim. The gentle contours that make up the bowl conform quite naturally to the hand, and the wide transition leaves plenty of room to drape a digit over. The shank-and-stem arrangement stretches out of the low-set transition and curls upward, striking a comfortable smoking posture from which to enjoy the bowl's respectably deep chamber capacity. A walnut-hued smooth finish dresses the stummel and brilliantly highlights the streaks of flame grain across the bowl's flanks.
