Kai Nielsen: Smooth Bent Dublin (Jewel of Denmark) (B) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-137-0121

A second-generation pipe maker, Kai Nielsen fashions some rather striking takes on classic shape-chart standards. His style playfully marries supple curves with sweeping line work, resulting in rich, elegant designs like this bent Dublin. Poised at the fore of a curling shank-and-stem arrangement, the bowl flares from its subtly lifted heel to its broad, softly inflated rim, marked by a pair of crisp beadlines. The lifted heel hoists the bowl upward and lends the overall composition a dynamic posture that's accentuated by the reaching angle of the shank and stem. Lightweight and comfortable in hand, this piece is stylishly presented in a glossy auburn finish that highlights handsome strands of flame grain across the flanks of the bowl.
