Kai Nielsen: Sandblasted Bent Brandy (VVVV) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-137-0146
The son of Viggo Nielsen, founder of the Bari pipe factory, Kai Nielsen spent his teenage years working in his father's shop for pocket money. This early start saw him committing to full-time work there when he turned 21, the wealth of experience aiding him in becoming a prolific artisan in his own right. This bent Brandy is a fine example of Nielsen's sleek and gestural style. The bowl features a scooped, asymmetrical rim that lends the composition a sense of forward motion. Behind the cheeked transition, a curved oval shank meets a bent vulcanite saddle stem in black and ochre cumberland. Dressed in a crisp black sandblast, the stummel offers plenty of engaging texture for the fingers to explore.
