This Bulldog from Kai Nielsen is a gestural take on the shape-chart standard that marries the form's muscular character to a fluid curvature. The bowl, brawny and tall, boasts a Pot-like stoutness that fills the fingers quite nicely. A pair of beadlines wrap around the bowl's high-set waistline and demarcate the highly domed rim from the rest of the stummel. The rounded diamond shank's softer structural lines contrast the bowl's brawny build and create a unique feel in hand. A chestnut-hued smooth finish dresses the stummel and accentuates the fine streaks of flame grain across the bowl's flanks.
