Kai Nielsen: Smooth Bent Dublin (Jewel of Denmark) (C) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-137-0195

Son of Viggo Nielsen, Kai Nielsen has a lifetime of experience working in the pipe industry. From assisting his father in the Bari pipe factory to creating the Faaborg pipe with his brother, Kai has constantly learned and grown as a craftsman. The Jewel of Denmark grade is used to categorize some of the artisan's best work, with sub-grades ranging from A to D - A being the highest. This particular Jewel of Denmark bent Dublin is denoted with the C grade, displaying Nielsen's incredible skill and attention to detail. A more angular and dynamic rendition of the shape-chart standard, this bent Dublin is a unique interpretation that would add to any collection. Up front, ridgelines along the underside create a softly pointed heel from which the walls of the bowl flare to a subtly concave rim. The linework across the underside continues all the way up the shank and through the shoulders of a half-saddle stem made of vulcanite. The smooth briar and sleek mouthpiece are connected at the junction by a thin white accent band, adding a pop of lightness to the pipe's darker coloration. It's hard to miss the impressive grain throughout the stummel, showcasing flame grain across the bowl's flanks and dense patches of birdseye on the rim and underside.
