An organic design from Ken Dederichs, this bent Apple possesses particularly thick chamber walls and a wide plateau-crowned rim to match. The rim domes inward and converges on that plateau, leaving spikes of natural texture that imply additional upward movement, while the growth rings that descend the bowl maintain consistency in wave after wave of grain all the way to the heel. Precise cheeking at the transition contributes to the bowl retaining its organic shaping cues, and the shank is cylindrical even while it curves gently upward to meet the saddle mouthpiece. It presents an intriguing combination of textures with a subdued and traditional color palette, all while projecting a truly organic presence.
