Citing two venerable Danish pipemakers (Jorne Micke and Bo Nordh) as influences on his aesthetic, Lan Zhenjun has definitely developed quite a reputation for crafting smoothly-flowing takes on Danish classics rich in a robust fluidity. This bent Billiard is no exception, with its forward, Danish-style bowl followed by a playful, almost tubular shank and downturned saddle stem. It's grounded by a bit of plumpness at the bowl's lower waistline, leading the eye to the gently pinched transition and neat lanes of flame grain riding up the length of the shank. Plenty of the stuff can also be found on the bowl's flanks as well, with the whole of it accentuated by a warm contrast stain.
