L'Anatra: Pettinate Bent Egg Sitter with Silver (Gigante) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-023-1492
Since its establishment in 1998, L'Anatra has become a mainstay of Italian pipe making and an influential part of the Pesaro tradition. Evocative finishes, playful shaping, and exquisite silverwork typify L'Anatra's craftsmanship and reflect the marque's bold, whimsical spirit. There is perhaps no better encapsulation of L'Anatra's unique character than their telltale signature: a tiny silver duck head, found on every pipe stem.
Pipes from L'anatra's Gigante series comprise some of the workshop's largest pieces, further enhancing the substance of the brand's already larger-than-average output. These pipes present extended lengths and hearty constructions, their proportions often dramatized, even within the bounds of the Pesaro school. This particular bent Egg Sitter is an especially robust pipe, with an extremely well-bent shank and stem and a thick, hearty bowl. Said bowl stands on a flat heel and grows hearty, curvaceous walls around its capacious chamber, leaving plenty of space to showcase the stummel's crisp-lined, wire-style rustication and dark, inky stain: contrasted nicely by a band of silver at the junction.
