Larry Roush: Partially Sandblasted Bent Pot with Rope Finish Silver (L3) (2464)
Product Number: 002-830-0009
It doesn't get much more Pot-like than this broad piece from Larry Roush, with its oversized bowl balanced by a downturned shank and stem. All of that extra bowl serves several purposes, however — first, as an insulating layer against the capacious chamber, and second, as a canvas on which to display one of his fine sandblasts, with all of the grain it brings to the surface. The unstained stummel is then deftly highlighted against a swirled stem in shades of green, with a band of sterling silver in a rope motif to help tie the whole piece together. Neat work, and considering the finising techniques used, a piece that should color nicely with time and enjoyment.
