Larry Roush: Sandblasted Billiard with Wave Finish Silver (S5) (2702) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-830-0071

Larry Roush's pipe making career was born from his love for pipe smoking. Even before he took up the craft, Roush leveraged his background as a jeweler and silversmith to make accents for the pipes in his rotation. He eventually began making pipes entirely by hand, receiving instruction early on from American artisan Mike Butera. Roush's work is typically marked by his ornate silverwork, hand-cut vulcanite stems, and extra-craggy sandblasts, all of which are present on this bent Billiard.

This piece features a tall, muscular bowl that rises at the fore of a sturdy shank and a sleek mouthpiece. The overall form favors the bowl, which towers over the slim round shank and fills the hand with its thick insulating walls and stout build. Additionally, the bowl houses a capacious chamber within its muscular frame, ensuring plenty of long, leisurely smoking sessions. An incredibly crisp sandblast — a signature Roush finish — dresses the stummel and coaxes out impressive waves of growth rings all around the bowl, providing plenty of tactile and visual appeal. One of Roush's signature wave-finished silver accents adorns the junction and bespeaks the artisan's incredible metalworking ability.
