Gregor Lobnik: Smooth Bent Apple with Boxwood

Product Number: 002-357-0089

We've seen some pretty curvaceous shapes from Gregor Lobnik before, but this one takes the cake. If you had told me Gregor had made this shortly after a visit with Sergey Syomin, I would have believed you. Granted, what Gregor's done here isn't quite as extreme as Dyomin's approach to plumpness, but it certainly seems headed in that direction. Of course, making a charmingly full (very full in this case) bodied shape is one thing, and making it graceful too, is another. Fortunately, Gregor does both, with clean, easy lines, an active lift to both bowl and shank, and a transition handled just right so that its lowermost portion, along with rear-underside of the bowl, forms a natural fulcrum and visual anchor.
