Luiz Lavos: Sandblasted Natural Billiard with Horn Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-881-0052
As a young boy, Luiz Lavos worked in his grandfather's woodworking shop, where he would hone the skills he would eventually need to become the influential pipe artisan he is today. As he began his journey in the pipe industry, Lavos received stewardship from other impactful artisans such as Sabina Santos, Premal Chheda, and Hans "Former" Nielsen. Featuring a Brandy-like taper of the bowl's walls, this Billiard showcases classic Danish elements, as well as combines various textures, hues, and materials to create a dynamic piece that would diversify any collection. Said bowl is married to a rounded shank that barely extends past the cheeked transition before connecting to an accent of horn. The horn continues through the lower half of the saddle stem, the remainder cut from inky vulcanite to juxtapose the tanblast finish dressing the stummel, save for the smooth, chamfered rim.
