Manduela: Smooth Natural Bent Bulldog with Horn and Amberoid Tobacco Pipe

The bent Bulldog is a great shape to experiment with — it's easily identified thanks to its diamond shank and traditional bead-lines, but offers an array of areas that can be tweaked, as well as proportions to play with, and looks quite fetching across a number of finishes. Here, Manduela Riger-Kusk has given it some extra structure, boasting one of her firm heels at the fore, its line continuing through the bottom of the diamond shank in a crisp edge. The bowl itself is upright, its bead lines set high to give it an even more lofty feel, while the stummel has been finished in one of her soft polishes and lighter stains. As accent, it wears a stem base of natural horn, while the rest of the stem has been made from amberoid, and features some unique patterns thanks to the material's compressed resin source.
