Mark Tinsky: Morta Lovat (6)

Product Number: 002-035-0072

With this creation Mark Tinsky becomes one of only a very few artisans I've seen make pipes in smooth morta, a material more typically presented in sandblasts. And I'd say he did a good job of it. The dark, semi-petrified oak contrasts tastefully to the ivory-colored stem, and the medium's grain (quite different from that of briar) handled well, producing opposing rolling patterns on either flank.
