Mark Tinsky: Natural Billiard with Bocote (5) (One Star)

Product Number: 002-035-0707

Mark Tinsky knows his classic shapes, and he knows how to modify them to the best effect, such as is seen with this Natural Billiard. In a very light, natural color, the bowl highlights tight, vertical flame grain draping its circumference. Of particular note is Tinsky's use of bocote, a hardwood from Central America that is often used in fine cabinetry and musical instruments. A rim extension of the dramatically grained wood circles the upper bowl and is echoed at the end of the shank with an equally dramatic ring. This is a pipe with a classic disposition that still presents its own particular character with beauty.
