Veering from the English standard model of the shape chart standard, this bent Bulldog from Mark Tinsky features a round-bottomed bowl in profile, accentuated by the underside's crisp line continued through from the shank. The tight transition gives the bowl the illusion of a backwards cant, as well as an even more substantial feel in hand. With the accenting contrast of a bocote rime cap above the twin beadlines, this vertically compact bowl maintains plenty of visual interest and contributes to quite the modern, avant-garde presentation.
