Like all of his Christmas pipes, Mark Tinsky's 2020 release is united by a singular design dressed in a myriad of the American carver's signature finishes. The shape caters well to Mark's typically muscular style, calling to mind certain Italian makers with its thick-walled, deeply chambered bowl and comparatively trimmer shank-and-stem combination. The Root example is particularly stunning, highlighting stunning grain in a traditional walnut stain with accents of uniquely grained black and white ebony wood adorning the rim and stem base.
