Mark Tinsky: Natural Bent Dublin with Emerald Palm and Ebony (5)
Product Number: 002-035-0809
Mark Tinsky has quite the storied history in American pipe making, founding American Smoking Pipe Co. in 1978 and maintaining a consistent output for the 43 years that have elapsed since then. This bent Dublin showcases his penchant for unique accent materials, utilizing trim bands of emerald palm and ebony at the top of the tobacco chamber, while a matching band of emerald palm travels the circumference just under the flared rim. These accents, besides being aesthetically pleasing, add a subtle contrast to the traditional finish of the piece, splashes of visual intrigue that capture the eye. Shape wise, this piece boasts a voluptuous bowl, with the flared rim, clenched midsection and bulbous, slightly pronounced heel, rendering a sturdy, yet elegant presence in hand. Out back, the shank balances the proportions of the bowl, as the acrylic stem makes a subtle downturn that offsets some of the bowl's stature in profile.--Davin Hylton
