Mark Tinsky: Bengal Calabash (4) (One Star)

Product Number: 002-035-0841

A relatively trim interpretation of the Calabash, this Bengal-finished piece from Mark Tinsky features an inflated rim of briar resting atop a bowl of somewhat compressed proportions. The transition is smooth and almost Horn-like in its expansion from mouthpiece to bowl, providing a serpentine quality in profile. Balance is excellent thanks to the soft downturn of the tapered stem, and it's profoundly comfortable in hand and this shape is less likely to slip out of one's fingers.
