Mark Tinsky: Pristine Cauldron with Mazur Birch Accent (5) (One Star)
Product Number: 002-035-0854
Though generally thought of as an Italian shape, the Cauldron is a form also explored by a number of American artisans. Mark Tinsky, for example, makes a gorgeous interpretation — one that I count among his signatures. That being said, we don't see these very often. From the inward taper of the waistline to the flared, slightly domed rim, it's a gorgeous number quite worthy of Mark's "One Star" stamp, as it displays a beautiful array of flame grain. This rendition wears a bright auburn stain and smooth finish, and is further elevated by a Mazur birch accent at the shank end.- Andrew Wike
