Mark Tinsky: Black and Tan Bent Dublin with Leopardwood Cap (6) (Two Star)

Product Number: 002-035-0875

Uniquely shaped and packing plenty of rich character, this bent Dublin from Mark Tinsky boasts a squatter bowl than is often seen from the shape, one that retains the flared rim and gradual taper in shorter, broader proportions. Tinsky once again shows his deft hand for accents and finishes, with a cap of leopardwood subtly contrasting with the traditional finish of the stummel and a patch of black rustication under the shank adding a rugged note to the smooth texture. Out back, the sleek shank, while round at the top, has a paneled underside that results in two crisp, firm lines on either side that travel the shank's length before wrapping around the bowl near the transition. The acrylic stem appears relatively abbreviated, overshadowed by the more robust bowl and shank, as it makes a slight downturn, its jet-black color perfectly complementing the rusticated patch. Handsome bands of flame grain streak across the bowl, while luscious birdseye spots the shank and heel, making for a captivating smoking instrument replete with charm.
