Mark Tinsky: Root Bent Pot (5) (One Star) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-035-0921
The bent Pot isn't a shape that's seen too often from American carver Mark Tinsky, though when we do see it, it's usually rendered in interesting, novel ways. This example is exactly that, with a trim stem married to a diamond shank which transitions into a squat, broad bowl. With a low-set waistline and a firm heel, the bowl pinches in just slightly at the waist, further amplifying the bespoke aesthetic. A warm, smooth finish brings the visual appeal together nicely, accentuating a bounty of handsome grain patterns.
