Mark Tinsky: Root Bent Pot Christmas 2021 Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-035-0968
Every year since 1983, Montana-based carver Mark Tinsky has created a series of special pipes to celebrate Christmas, and the design for 2021 is this low-slung, muscular bent Pot. A rotund, abbreviated bowl is protected by thick, insulating walls, and the transition is substantial, reaching halfway up the bowl with a width of similarly robust dimensions. From that strong start, the shank tapers in width and height as it reaches toward a tapered acrylic stem. The mouthpiece stretches the overall length well past six inches and bends down with a sleek taper to offer a comfortable smoking position. This example wears a smooth, light finish to showcase handsome flame grain; a study in understated elegance.
