Mark Tinsky: Sandblasted Hawkbill (5) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-035-1194
Mark Tinsky has always been an adventurous spirit; in fact, he first decided to open a pipe-carving business while bicycling across Europe with his friend Curt Rollar. Since that fateful day in 1978, the American carver has built a long and successful career of making beautiful pipes, often with his own unique adaptations of classic pipe chart shapes. The Hawkbill is a shape usually associated most with Italian pipe makers, but here Tinsky executes the dramatic shape with aplomb. A bulbous bowl perches at the end of a strikingly curved shank and stem. Its wearing a crisp sandblast and has been stained an inky hue for a more serious look while providing plenty of texture in hand.
