Mark Tinsky: Mocha Bent Bulldog (5) (Two Stars) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-035-1318
Mark Tinsky has quite the storied history in American pipe making, founding the American Smoking Pipe Co. in 1978 and maintaining a consistent output for the over four decades that have elapsed since then. Tinsky lives in Montana and spends his days fly fishing and making pipes, bringing his many years of experience in the craft to every shape he fashions. He boasts a rather diverse portfolio, offering a wide range of shapes in a variety of unique finishes. Tinsky is also well known for his accenting work, incorporating everything from hardwoods to metals into his compositions. A fine showcase of Tinsky's style, this bent Bulldog boasts a broad, thick-walled bowl that stands at the fore of an upturned diamond shank and a demurely curved saddle stem. Twin beadlines encircle the bowl's waistline and demarcate the tapered rim from the rest of the stummel, while crisp ridgelines frame the shank and lend a structural angularity to the shape's profile. Dressed in the rich, warm stain of the Mocha finish, the stummel reveals flickering flame grain flowing through the flanks.
