Every year since 1983, Mark Tinsky has celebrated the holiday season with a perennial and much-anticipated release: his annual, limited-edition run of Christmas pipes. Tinsky's Christmas series for 2024 presents a single shape across a variety of the carver's signature finishes, with the representative for 2024 being a muscular interpretation of the bent Apple. Defined by a plump, full-bodied bowl, a thick transition, and a sturdy shank, 2024's bent Apple offers a substantial in-hand presence and a brawny build that's balanced by a sinuous curvature along the pipe's aft. This particular example wears Tinsky's Root finish, its handsome dress revealing gorgeous grain throughout the stummel.
