Mastro Geppetto: Sabbiato Bent Apple Tobacco Pipe

Italian pipe making, in general, looks to classic English and French shapes and renders them in more dramatic, stylized fashion. In the case of this Mastro Geppetto bent Apple, the classic Prince form lies underneath the surface, presenting a plump, squat bowl on the end of a bent shank and stem combination. This Italian rendition, however, has deepened that downward turn and continued it through the shank, resulting in a more playful, whimsical version that contrasts against the more reserved and traditional sandblasted finish.
