Mastro Geppetto's Pipe of the Year for 2020 combines elements of the Cherrywood and Apple designs. The bowl is substantial in hand and generously rounded, paired to a bent stem for easy balance when clenched. Conveniently, though, the heel is flattened to promote sturdy sitting, supported by the bowl's forward cant. Fitted with a sterling silver accent, etched with the Italian workshop's logo, this particular example is dressed in a natural rustication, with the rim left smooth for further accenting elegance.
