Mastro Geppetto: Liscia Paneled Bent Apple (2) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-819-0368
Svelte and plump are not usually adjectives used together to describe a pipe, though in this case I find them to be appropriate, as this bent Apple from Mastro Geppetto proves. The stem is a sleek, gently curved half-saddle arrangement which is paired to a lithe ovoid shank that arcs out of the bowl at a slight angle. The transition is fluid and the heel is soft, supporting a bulbous, paneled bowl with a smooth aft side, making for an alluring profile. The Liscia, "smooth" in English, finish which dresses this pipe graces it with a glossy chestnut stain that reveals a sloping, undulating birdseye pattern on the right flank.
