Mastro Geppetto: Pipe of the Year 2022 Rusticato Natural with Silver Tobacco Pipe

Each year, Mastro Geppetto selects a single shape for their Pipe of the Year and renders it in a variety of their most iconic finishes. The bent Billiard is the shape they chose for 2022, and it features a commemorative silver band engraved with several depictions of the workshop's Pinocchio logo. Shape-wise, it's a rather handsome rendition of the pipe-chart standard, with a tall, forward-canted bowl that's married to an upturned shank and an arcing saddle stem of jet-black acrylic, the latter of which should ensure a comfortable smoking posture. The plump walls of the bowl provide an ergonomic fit in hand, while the transition leaves a bit of space to drape a finger over. This particular example is dressed in a virgin example of the craggy Rusticato finish, providing ample texture for the fingers to explore, save for the shank, which is left smooth for a touch of contrast.
