Although many renditions of the playfully designed Oom Paul shape lack room at the transition to drape a thumb, this hand-made piece from Mastro Geppetto does indeed, making it more user-friendly. Rather classically inclined with its cylindrical bowl, flattened and extended heel, deep bend, and high-reaching shank and downturned stem, this is a fine representation of the form. It's dressed in a smooth smoky walnut finish that reveals handsome birdseye on either flank and cross grain at fore and aft and is primed to be a lightweight hands-free smoker.
