A bold, muscular design, this straight Billiard from Mastro Geppetto features a stout, thick-walled bowl encompassed by eight facets. The facets lend the bowl an octagonal shape and a sense of firm rigidity. Extending from the low-set transition, the boxy shank continues the angular motif of the bowl, as it tapers subtly towards the acrylic mouthpiece. The gradual diminishing of the shank-and-stem arrangement accentuates the bowl's visual prominence in typical Italian neoclassical fashion. The stummel wears the crisp Sabbiato sandblast, which highlights an impressive display of grain about the bowl. A sure Sitter thanks to its flattened heel, this piece should make for a rather fetching desk pipe.
