Mastro Geppetto's annual Pipe of the Year features a singular shape presented in a variety of finishes, and it wears a silver band engraved with the visage of Pinocchio, the workshop's logo. In 2023, Mastro Geppetto offers a muscular bent Pot that combines ornate flourishes with a bowl-centric aesthetic. A jet-black acrylic stem possesses an expanded ring that tapers to the silver band on the shank, giving the arrangement the appearance of a military mount but retaining a pressure-style system. The shank only has a small briar surface, serving to emphasize the robust bowl, which is perched atop a pronounced heel that fits firmly in hand. The broad bowl possesses thick, insulating walls that keep one's hand cool as one enjoys the capacious chamber. This particular pipe is dressed in the cool, walnut hues of Mastro Geppetto's Liscia finish.
