Mastro Geppetto: Liscia Paneled Bent Billiard Sitter (2) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-819-1235

Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo in 1982, building a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Mastro Geppetto is Ser Jacopo's sub-brand of more accessibly priced pipes that still maintain a high-quality of workmanship. Crafted in the Ser Jacopo workshop, these pieces embody the playful Pesaro style of their pricier counterparts, with this paneled bent Billiard being an excellent example. The stummel of this piece is impressively compact, with a robust bowl sat at the fore, its curving, tapering walls sat atop a flat heel which allows for stable sitting. Possessed of eight crisp panels, the bowl here is firm in the hand and offers some muscular rigidity that balances some of this piece's softer elements. A wide transition gives way to a tapering shank that's rounded at its face, paired here to a lengthy, smartly curved stem of multicolored acrylic. Dressed in a smoky, glossy stain, the stummel displays handsome grain throughout, while the stem offers a touch of contrasting color.
